Natural Gas Shortages

Fortis BC is asking all natural gas customers, including Strata Corporation residents, to reduce their natural gas consumption this winter because of a shortage caused by reduced supply after a pipe rupture.

We encourage all Residential Customers to take whatever steps are available to them.  Most Strata Corporations don’t rely on natural gas to heat residential units but it’s not atypical to have fireplaces and ovens that are fed by natural gas.  Please be mindful of these throughout the winter, and perhaps most importantly, reduce hot water usage (which is almost always supplied by natural gas boilers).
